Happy independence day to all of the Americans here today! Happy global domination to the rest of you! In either case, everyone has a face. If you have a face, stretch it, and see what happens. Do it over and over and over and over and you will make your life more free than you can possibly imagine. You will see more, do more, know more, and feel more. Don’t believe me? Try it 3x/day for a year and write back to me with your revelations. Enjoy!

I love you all.

tafbutton blue16 Facing Your Own Independence: A Simple Twist of Face.
GTD on June 16th, 2009

Welcome to summer!

My favorite quote from the clip:

“When I’m twisting myself up like a pretzel, what does it have to do with enlightenment?”

Norman Allen says, “Nothin’!”

My body still contains the knowledge it gained over two months working almost daily with Norman. Right now, I can still go through the entire series of exercises as I learned them almost 7 years ago. I say this not only to gloat, which is not satisfying enough, but to demonstrate a simple and profound ‘hidden secret’ that may be of value to anyone reading these words.

Knowledge is a living substance as much as flesh and bone. It could also be described as electrical or chemical in nature, if one is willing to remember that each of these descriptions are nothing more than interpretations, idolatry in the most mechanical sense of the term. Gnosis means living knowledge. Everyone has living knowledge. In a sense, the body itself consists of living knowledge.

Gnosis enlivens all but still hides within its own sanctuary, its own inviolable shrouds and veils. When the curtains open, the Gnosis performs. When the curtains close, the Gnosis reposes. This is what the old wicked wise man of the woods, a very close friend of mine, implied when he told me, over and over, “There is Great Power in Silence.”

And yet, for me at least, the Gnosis demands expression, or more accurately, while the Gnosis finds repose in silence, it equally takes Great Joy in revealing itself at every turn of the wheel and shining out of every dark corner of even the deepest and darkest of hell realms. The candle never goes out, and even when it does, it will go out because you will remember you were looking in the mirror.

a mirror among mirrors

a mirror among mirrors

Enjoy.

tafbutton blue16 En Lightening Up :) Gnosis or No?

Taking a hint from the Good Doctor, my old and now dead teacher and inspiration, peace be upon him, I have designed an all new device for your awakening pleasure and enjoyment.

When the Oracle at Delphi said, “Know Thyself,” I took her words seriously. After taking all the time and energy to find my way back in time to get this advice, I decided to take it rather seriously.

It is in this light that I present to you the Awareness Meter.

First, I will warn you not to place judgment on wherever you find yourself. This is simply a tool to get to know yourself a little bit better and to gauge the qualities of your experiences in terms of your level of awareness.

This way, you will quickly be able to discover what situations lull you into sleepy programmed habitual reactivity, and what situations bring out the true “decider” in you.

I use it this way so far:

I check in with various meters, including a Mood Meter and an Enhancement Meter. Now I add the Awareness Meter too and think about various parts of my day in terms of how present I was to what was actually going on. This helps me to see what kinds of situations to avoid, and what elements of my experiences also have a tendency to make me more aware.

Another little piece I have added is to check in at the end of each day with a percentage of “awakeness” for the whole day. I scan the whole day in my mind and then assign a percentage between 1 and 100 to see how aware I was.

Another way you could apply the meter, if you like, is to set an alarm to go off multiple times throughout your day (and night…?) and when it goes off, ask yourself how awake and aware you are to the actual physical events going on inside and around you.

Just choose a place between 1-7 on the scale.

Awake 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Asleep

Again, don’t waste too much time on this. If you catch something significant, write about it a little bit. Examine yourself for more data when it presents itself. After that, move on and keep living.

See what happens when you try this out over time. There is no real way to assess ahead of time everything the device will do for you. Why? Because you are you, and you will have your own personal experience. That is where you begin, and where you end, with your personal experience.

Have fun.

Enjoy,
