Admission

On 26 October 2008, in Creative Deconstructions, by Garrett Daun

Tonight, my challenge is to admit a simple failure. I projected that tonight, I would have a workshop fully prepared, and would release it on this blog, and on facebook, for the public to download, for one day only. Alas, the workshop will not yet be made available. Like Windows Vista and Apple’s Leopard operating systems, this operating system for your brain will not yet be released. My deepest apologies for leading you on.

Sometimes I really rock the house, and other times, I bite off more than I can chew. More often than not, I use a whole string of played cliches to excuse myself for going back on my word. Well, as the elections have drawn near, perhaps “we the people,” or in my case, I the person, deserve my own chance to cover up what I am really trying to say with political banter.

Nah. I just didn’t complete the workshop in time. Instead, I will upload another workshop for y’all to download. The workshop is called, “Creative Deconstruction: The Life Force Moves.” If anyone requests the text for the “Reading and Listening” exercises, please leave me a comment to that effect, and I will provide the text for you. Here you will find: The Life Force Moves.

I have revised my workshop plan, and decided to go ahead with a weekly class while I gather more information and produce the workshops at the same time. Taking creative control of your own life takes a fair bit of work, after all.

Stop by tonight or tomorrow for another step further into the memory abyss with the Captured Moments cards. 5 more drawn at random and posted again. It feels like posting pieces of an immense jigsaw puzzle that makes up my past. I have noticed a gradual deepening of my ability to recall vivid and complete memories, as well as to take notice of the various sensory details of what is going on around me.

What can be learned from this post tonight? I have learned that sometimes the most genuine of plans do not always proceed as I would like them to. I will not pretend that they do. However, no circumstances can ever prevent me from consistently aiming myself at my goals, coming up with another plan, and taking action toward them.

So, no matter where you find yourself, and no matter what failures fall behind you, aim yourself in the direction you want to head and take a step. No matter how far away the peak looks, you can and will make it to the summit. See you there.
