Faithless Loyalties: Tolerating A Life of Shit? If so…

On 30 November 2008, in Adventures, by Garrett Daun

STOP!

Stop for a moment before going any further, sit back, press play, and drift away on this song for a moment, imagining the possibilities of living the rest of your life tolerating all those things you know you don’t want to tolerate.

Ok, got that list of tolerables? Let’s call them Faithless Loyalties. What do I mean by “Faithless Loyalties?” I read an article by Steve Pavlina, who I hope to interview for this blog very soon. His article called “Tolerance is Resistance To Love” really opened up my mind to a new way of thinking that has danced on the tip of my brain for quite some time now.

Click on this quote to get to the whole article: “You won’t be able to attract what you want while you’re still tolerating what you don’t want. You have to say “I quit” first. This is life’s test of courage. If you can’t summon the courage to quit what you know you don’t want, you certainly won’t have the strength to receive and hold onto what you do want. So you have to pass through this qualification test first. I know it sucks to have to go through it, but it’s there for a good reason.”

I’ll toss out a few of my own, at the same time saying, “Stop!” to each of them.

1. Negative Inner Dialogue: no more talking shit on or hating on myself, under any circumstances.

2. Financial Dependence and Debt: No more. Time to liberate myself.

3. Strict, Monogamous Relationships: Enough mutual dependence and domestication.

4. Making decisions out of fear instead of courage.

5. Judging Myself and Others.

6. Staying Ignorant of Huge Aspects of My Life, Habits, Patterns and True Intentions.

7. Doing Things I Hate To Do.

8. Avoiding Things I Love To Do.

9. Complaining About Things: “What’s Gonna Happen To Me?” (Say that over and over a bunch of times and pace around worried next time you feel afraid or upset, come on, try it!)

10. Letting “Other People” Lead Me To Feeling Bad.

11. Making Weakening Decisions and Choices.

12. Acting Subservient to Others.

13. Comparing Myself To Others and Feeling Inadequate.

14. Forgetting My Strength, Personal Power, Charm, Knowledge, and Insight.

15. Not Learning From Mistakes.

16. Making Excuses For Myself Instead of Taking Action.

17. Not Saying What I Really Feel.

18. Not Asking For What I Want.

19. Not Getting Massaged At Least Once A Week.

20. Not Taking Consistent Action Toward My Life-Enhancing Goals.

21. Not Honoring Myself And Enjoying Every Bit Of Life.

22. Not Envisioning and Taking Action Toward The Sovereign, Immensely Wealthy, Adventurous, Global-Citizen Life That I So Strongly Yearn For.

23. Not Exercising and Strengthening My Body Every Day.

That should make the foundations tremble, eh? Any fellow discordians or I-Chingers?

Ok, my list can go on and on, but I think there are some lynch pins I will discover over the next couple of days that will allow me to make some cascading changes in a delightful and creative manner, much life that presented and described in:

Do you have any Faithless Loyalties in your life that you can decide to STOP tolerating, right this minute?

If you do, leave some on a comment. Let’s build some momentum here and see if we can raise a banner against gravity, stupidity, and death.

Unless you enjoy the shit out of your patterned, Matrix life. And even if you have liberated yourself to a large degree, you still have room to move, don’t you? Make your life a beautiful and courageous thing to behold. You will know when you have accomplished this by the gleam in people’s eyes, and the constipated look of all the haters you left behind…

Here’s another tune to enjoy while you ponder your comment, and think about what kinds of changes you have already begun making since you first started reading this post. If you make changes in your favor, perhaps some of the tensions will disperse, you can take a deep breath, and say “Ahhhhhhhhh.” This next song might remind you of how it will feel to fall in love with your life.

Enjoy!

All for now,

More on Problems tomorrow.

Love, wildness, chaos…joy…
