My blog crashed back to December....

Who Fuckin' Cares?

Perhaps watching Lost this season was not such a good idea after all. All that time travel has crawled out of the computer screen into my life and back in through the screen into my blog. Some of you may have noticed that on February 15, 2009, my blog took a trip back in time to December 19, 2008.

At first, I felt very upset over losing nearly 2 months of my precious writings. Then, Jim from Now Here Love texted me to ask if it was a deliberate False Self Suicide….

Well, no it wasn’t, at least not on my part. That moment of noticing my attachment to those blog posts turned into a spontaneous False Self Suicide.

The false self that perished was the one that confused the shit of art with the art itself.

E.J. Gold, creator of the IDHHB (Institute for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being), mentioned during one of his talks that Art is often misdefined as the products that the artist produces. Instead, he said, Art is better defined as “concentrated attention.” He also added that the things that the artist produces are the excrement of the art itself.

So, I got a little upset that some of my shit got flushed. That’s it. The ability to concentrate my attention has not suffered at all. My art continues unhindered. There are just a few less electrons hosted at my webhost (bluehost, by the way, click on that ad over on the sidebar to get amazing and inexpensive hosting…)…no big deal!

In life, it really doesn’t matter at all WHAT happens to you. What really matters is how you train yourself, how you live, how you convert everything to beauty, joy, adventure, and self-development.

Have you ever played a video game? If so, you know that it would make for a really boring video game if you knew everything that was going to happen, especially if nothing happened at all. It would make for a seriously boring time to watch a movie in which people sat in a house, safe, doing the same routine everyday and every night, and the movie begins and ends with nothing happening in between. (Well, actually, that movie would reveal a great deal of data about how the word “normal” acts as a euphemism for “programmed and sleepy autopilot.”

Hey, where do you get off thinking that something huge has to be happening all the time for your entertainment, anyways?

Ok, the false self that was killed by this spontaneous blog disappearance is the false self that thinks everything has to proceed as normal as possible, with no surprises, no happenings, no challenges….

That is for the realm of the eternal, which most of us would have a lot of trouble handling.

As Osho said, “I could take away your problems, but you would hate me for it.”

Enjoy, no matter what happens. It is ok for things not to go well. If you get caught with your pants down, so what? Flush the toilet and move on. Your real friends won’t care…I won’t care either.
