The topic of workshops has wandered into my life again after a serious attempt to forget about them. I have loaded my computer down with so much amazing Creative Deconstruction content over the past couple years that it has finally started to erupt all over my life.
Creative Deconstruction
After 4 different people urged me to get started on a new workshop series, the time has finally arrived.
The workshops will take place in various locations in and around Eugene, to be announced very soon.
Each workshop will have a specific focus within the realm of Creative Deconstruction and will serve various purposes toward the same end.
In the past, I have conducted workshops in a top-down fashion. This means that I had an extensive outline prepared ahead of time, and I basically preprogrammed the entire workshop and then some. We never made it to the end of the outline, and I never allowed space for anyone’s questions, discussions, explorations, diversions, and passing gas.

This new set of workshops will turn all of that on it’s head. These workshops will serve your interests directly.
I have a very short outline for each workshop. Just enough kick to achieve Escape Velocity. Once we hit outer space, we will find ourselves “in it together.” This means that, while each weekly workshop has a jump-off point, for the most part, each session will go with the flow of the unconscious. Silence and discussion will hold as much of the spacetime as specific experiments and experiential explorations.
The workshops will accommodate those who show up for only one session by providing a great foundation to work from within a specific subject matter. They will more deeply serve those who attend all 13 sessions, as the work builds on itself.
For those who wish for an even deeper and more profound exploration, each workshop will include a folder or information including a certificate, links, media suggestions, and advanced work for each week. Those who attend all 13 workshops and complete the homework will be invited to the workshops 30 minutes early for a review and discussion about the previous week’s experiences and exercises.
All who complete the entire course will be invited to a Deconstruction Art Party after the conclusion of the final workshop. At this party, we will produce a massive volume of artwork, recordings, and more. We will take all of this and get it displayed online and in studios in Eugene. All profits from the sale of our collective production will be split among the group. Members of the group will receive 50% off the price we determine for each piece.

Deconstructing the false self, in terms of that particular picture, involves empowering the Self, which then puts it in charge of all the other subselves….

Dr. Hyatt had a fascinating approach. He never advocated eradicating the ego, as so many gurus and new age proponents espouse doing. Instead, he thought of the ego as necessary.
When the ego gets beaten and battered by the superego, for acting out the infantile drives of the id, that is when one gets into trouble. The weak ego then does everything it can to regain power. This usually manifests as dishonesty and manipulation in all kinds of situations. The ego constantly tries to defend itself.
By stealing the power back from both the superego (the cop in your head, “shoulds,” “musts,” and “ought tos,” etc. the judge of yourself in your own head, the “inner critic.”), and the id (the drive to fuck everything, break everything, kill everything, and basically run amok and destroy oneself and all else, to greater or lesser degree,),,,the ego is once again strengthened, and can take a comfortable back seat to the drives of the deeper true Self.
To deal with your second question, the workshops will be amply announced all over town, on the web, and by other means.

That last graphic really presents a challenge! How does one deconstruct the false self? One at a time, as you have here? All at once in a mystically magical and rapturous ritual to one’s HGA? Through years of psychotherapy? Hoo… I’ll have to meditate on this one.
How will we know when the workshops happyn?
