Sitting in the mud of his mother’s vegetable garden at 15, it hit Garrett that adults spent much of their time upset. All week long, trudging off to jobs they hated. School did its best to brainwash him to accept this as “the way things are.” Weekends arrived: camping, adventuring, forays into wildness. Monday morning came down like a sledgehammer as everyone checked in for another week of pain.
Garrett declared: “This life is not for me. I refuse to do things I hate all week long. I will live in the wild.”
His life blossomed into a “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure” story.
The labels affixed to his selves-gone-by are numerous, travel-worn, faded and remembered in gratitude:

Garrett holds a Holistic Health Practitioner license form Carlsbad, CA; is an ordained Gnostic Bishop and Minister; has a BA in Creative Writing and Religious Studies from the University of Oregon; has been certified in Radical Undoing levels 1 and 2 from the late Dr. Christopher S. Hyatt; has completed 460 hours of massage training in Eugene, OR; and has trained in Jeet Kune Do, rock climbing, mountaineering, wilderness survival, and a whole lot more that you may or may not discover in person someday…..
