I’m Kevin Walker and this is where I write about creativity, what it is, and how it’s used to create influence and change culture. The hope being to empower the next generation…
I’m the founder of Creative Carbon, whose mission it is to inspire and equip the skills abilities of creativity and collaboration empowering the next generation to create change and influence their environment.
I have been working in “creative spheres” or industries or the creative world for 15 years as creative director and many other things. I’ve always been interested in and intentionally learned two things: how creativity can disrupt and create culture, and collaborating with and empowering others.
I started Creative Carbon for these very reasons.
I noticed that while every person is actually creative few consider themselves to be, or find it hard to “access” it…
Expand on this just a little bit more.
Steve Jobs once said “everything around you that you call ‘life’ was made up by people who were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.”
I remember reading that and really connecting with that idea. It kind of sent me on a journey to figure out how the people that were doing that, and how to do it myself in the areas I was working.
I’ve seen creativity, along with intentional disruption, to be an essential part of influencing and creating culture. Whether you’re, Virgil Abloh, Elon Musk, Kanye, or Steve Jobs.
This blog is about breaking down things to understand them more, the importance they have and how to use them yourself to disrupt and create. I usually look creativity through the lens of 6 or so angles that are important and interesting to me.
Every person is creative. whether you think you are or not, whether you “feel” creative or not. it’s part (or in) out very nature as humans.
I want to (or it’s my goal to) equip, inspire, and empower people to live a life of creativity, disruption and influence.
